The Central Garden:
A 60,000 square foot Central Garden in the First Phase of Bella Terra can be accessed by the community-wide series of private walkways. It is a lush, bountiful feast for the senses. Ponds and waterfalls highlight an artfully designed garden of trees, shrubs, foliage and flowers — all connected by a private path system with multiple viewpoints and benches.
Fruits, vegetables and herbs are woven throughout the ornamental plants in the Garden to provide residents with a bit of fresh food — nurturing body and spirit.
The sights and sound of falling water provide a feeling of serenity and peace –a short and lovely walk for Hidden Gardens’ residents. Landscape lighting provides a magical evening setting.
Contained within the Central Garden is a Contemplative Grotto, offering complete privacy for reflection, meditation or quiet conversation. Surrounded on three sides by rock walls and earth, with a columnar basalt wall shielding the entrance, the Grotto provides a garden within a garden, providing protection from the weather and a beautiful visual addition to the garden.
Water flows from the Grotto’s back wall, then drops into a lower basin where it creates a stream into the garden’s ponds. Benches and low-level lighting enable residents to enjoy the Grotto after dark while still maintaining the peaceful setting.

Pocket Gardens and View of the Eastern Mountains
Future phases of hidden gardens will provide unique pocket gardens and viewpoints of the mountains to the east, as well as spectacular sunrises and moon rises. The views to the east are particularly beautiful and peaceful in the early morning and around dusk and will be reached by an extension of the community pathways which when combined with the very low volume private roads provide over a mile of secluded and safe walks.Click here for photos of the Eastern view.
